She broke you even more
In a year already full of sorrows
The blood gushed out of your wounds
And ran down your tired legs
Soaking your sandals
As if you had gone wading
In a river of water so red.
Airmataku mengalir laju
Mengenangkan keadaanmu
Ketika engkau dihina
Menjadi ejekan dan bahan ketawa
Dilempar cacian, dibaling batu
Disakiti dan dizalimi mereka
Yang dihijabi hati dan mata
Dari mengenali Dia Yang Satu.
A true Prophet that you are
When an angel appeared, armed with mountains
Who would have wiped them out
In a blink of an eye, in a split second
If you’d only say ‘Aye!’
And yet you had said ‘No.’
Perchance their children
Or their children’s children
In a future, not too far
Would believe in Tawheed
The Oneness of The One -
The Most High.
Leaving Ibn Abbas Mosque, my heart was heavy
Leaving Ibn Abbas Mosque, my heart was heavy
But the Ta’if you once knew was no more
The descendants of those kafiruns
Whom you shielded from Allah’s wrath
Now walk around the city
With Nur in their hearts, your legacy
For Allah’s rewards are a thousandfold
For that one time when you showed
Kindness, forgiveness, and mercy
To those who called you their enemy.
Kindness, forgiveness, and mercy
To those who called you their enemy.
Ya Rasulullah, salallaahu alaihi wasallam!
(Note: When asked by Saidatina Aisyah RA about his toughest time during his da’wah, Prophet Muhammad PBUH had answered ‘Ta’if.’)
